The Voicemail

I left a voicemail on a stranger's phone.
My name. My address. And the words "I'm scared."

He called back with three words.

"Lock your door."

Seconds later, someone tried to break in.

He got there first.
And left my stalker bleeding in the hallway.

Alessandro Russo.
Older. Powerful. Blood on his hands.
And the first man in months who believed I was in danger.

Now I'm living in his penthouse.
Sleeping down the hall.
Finding reasons to close the distance.

He makes me feel safe enough to forget
I barely know him.

Until I realize the man protecting me
is more dangerous than the one stalking me.

Now I have a secret of my own.
Two pink lines.

His enemies already know I'm his weakness.
He doesn't know I'm carrying his child.

He nearly killed a man for coming through my door.
What happens when he finds out there are two of us to protect?
